A century old bridge in Franklin is getting getting a new life this Summer.
The “East Main Street Bridge” or “State Route 6 Bridge” over the Harpeth River was first built in the late 1920s and while it’s still safe to drive on, it’s just not up to current standards. TDOT will start doing improvements on the bridge here soon, which is going to affect traffic flow as they’ll cut it back to just 1 lane of traffic in both directions during construction.
The project should start later this Summer and will be complete by December 2028.
