Beware of this scam, especially in Robertson County.
A new phone scam is going around which tries to get the victim to pay $5,000 to help a loved one get out of trouble with the law. These scams always pick up this time of year and then into the Fall and winter season toward Christmas. The sheriff’s office will NEVER call to demand money so please don’t pay these people.
Also, good to have a talk with your older relatives and neighbors about this too.
