Metro Police are using a temporary gang injunction to bar nine people from much of the city’s entertainment district. They say the group targeted intoxicated people, sometimes under the pretense of selling something. The whole point was to gain access to their phone. They were so good at this that they could transfer hundreds or even thousands of dollars through a payment app within minutes of gaining access to a victim’s phone.
