It’s been so hot outside, remember to be careful about what you leave in your car OR what you’re throwing out.
Out in Columbia, a garbage truck caught on fire because a lithium battery was thrown out. Lithium batteries are super common in electronics like your phone, smart home devices, power tools, and more. The problem is, they aren’t supposed to be thrown in the regular trash because they are hazardous and can explode under extreme pressure or heat.
If you have anything with a lithium battery in it that needs to be junked, take it to the proper collection facility.. in Columbia, you can take it to a free drop-off location at Lowe’s.
