Over in Wilson County, educators are cracking down on this in schools.
A vape-detection sensor pilot program just launched in 3 schools for this school year which will silently trigger an alarm when vape smoke is detected, which then will trigger a hallway camera to record a clip of the student exiting the bathroom or locker room.
Interesting concept, last year alone- the district took away more than 600 vapes from students. A new program will also be taught for kids in 6th through 8th grade called “Smoke Screen.”
That course will talk about the harms of substance abuse.
