This is horrible news if you’re like me and shopped at this local butcher shop.
Smokin’ Oaks Organic Farms will start shutting down retail operations in the coming weeks after filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. They’ll be evolving into a cooperative and say their mission is the same: to build a food system around local farmers, transparency and long-term stewardship for their community.
I loved ordering their meats from Market Wagon.
