Down at Stewarts Creek High in Smyrna, a student named Gracie Wayne just won a Midsouth Emmy challenge for her report on News Channel 5’s Meryll Rose.
Meryll hosted “Talk of the Town” for decades before her retirement in 2023 and has become a role model for Gracie, who aspires to have a career in broadcasting one day. After her entry tied for first place, Gracie got a big surprise when she got to meet Meryll in person.. who shared some wisdom and advice.. and even shared her number with Gracie so that she can help mentor her!
