A new project in Gallatin is expected to kick off soon which will potentially decrease flooding in the downtown area and along Town Creek.
A large stormwater berm will be constructed in Triple Creek Park and go upstream, which will hopefully help keep water off of the low-lying areas. The berm will include a structure that temporarily stores stormwater that would otherwise flood the downtown area.
This won’t prevent flooding everywhere, just in places that it will do the most harm.
