Next school year will look different for some students in Williamson County.
The board has officially passed a ban on cell phone usage on some campuses, which will go into effect on August 1st. With the new policy, elementary and middle school students will be required to lock their phones away from bell-to-bell on a school day.
High schoolers will still be allowed to use their phones during lunch, however, they will be prohibited during breaks between classes. Now, they’re deciding where devices will be stored during the day, whether that be a bin in the classroom or in student’s lockers or backpacks.

Again, these changes will be active for next school year.
