Down in Smyrna, Tennessee’s first female Assistant Chief of Police was honored.
The late Sally Walls, who passed away on the 4th of July 5 years ago was honored for becoming the first woman to join the Smyrna Police Department back in 1979. Her family all got together as her memory was honored with a plaque at the Smyrna Justice Center.
Sally was also elected the town’s police and fire commissioner and was “instrumental in modernizing the departments.” She sounds awesome!!
