A local middle school band program was just saved thanks to this country star.
Matthew Ramsey from Old Dominion has a foundation called The Ramsey Foundation and yesterday, they presented J.T. Moore Middle School with a $50,000 dollar donation to save their concert band program.
We talked about this a few months ago, but last school year, parents launched the “BAND TOGETHER” campaign to save the program from being eliminated. Thanks to the donation, the campaign has raised over $65,000 which is enough to hire a part-time band director. Organizers are still hoping to raise their $92,000 goal by June 30th to hire a full-time band teacher.
