Should you use a road or a walkway? That’s the question a lot of Belle Meade residents are asking after city officials announced a “Boulevard Beautification” effort earlier this week.
Part of that effort means creating a pedestrian walkway along the historic Belle Meade Boulevard to help improve safety to those on foot, however, many residents say that the boulevard is meant to be a road, not for pedestrians and shouldn’t change. If it happens, changes would be made to the medians, bringing them in by a couple of feet to create a safe space for pedestrians.
