A new marker was just placed to honor a very special woman here in Middle Tennessee.
Dr. Lois Jordan was the first African-American woman to serve on Nashville’s Metro Council and now, a part of I-65 near the Huntsville exit by the Adventure Science Center and Fort Negley is named after her! Dr. Jordan was also an educator at Pearl-Cohn High School and was on hand for the unveiling ceremony. She said “it meant more than words could express” to share the occasion yesterday.
