The Tennessee Attorney General’s office wants you to be aware of this new scam that’s on the rise here in Middle Tennessee.
QR codes are everywhere.. they’re used to pay for parking downtown and for restaurant menus.. but now, we need to be careful when we use them. Apparently QR scams are on the rise which are being used to direct people to sites in an attempt to steal your info.
They’ve seen these being used for packages, payment scams, and more so they’re just reminding everybody to be cautious when scanning a QR code, especially ones sent in emails or in the mail. There’s a whole list of tips on how to spot these scams HERE
