Something to note – More scams are popping up left and right, every day and right in Spring Hill, a man is now out over $1000 because of a fake rental scam.
According to the Spring Hill Police, this rental scam happens multiple times a year. Basically, the man was looking to rent a house that he found on Facebook marketplace, but the only problem was, the home wasn’t really for rent.. it was on the market to be sold.
Crazy enough, the scammer even had a working code to the door so that the victim could show himself around the house before deciding to rent. This was the same code being used to show the home to potential buyers, so they’re like.. creepy. The police offered some advice while looking at rental properties online.. you can find that HERE
