The school year hasn’t even started yet and this group of moms is already the MVP of the year.. in Montgomery County, at least.
A group of moms in Clarksville just did what every child has tried to do for the last 50 decades.. they successfully made recess longer. After about 2 years of meetings, the Clarksville- Montgomery County School district have officially extended their recess time of 15 to 20 to 30 minutes daily.
The group is called “Say Yes to Recess” and they talk about the importance of social interaction, exercise and sunshine during the day. Now they’re hoping to bring longer recess to the entire state so if you want to join in the movement, you can find more info HERE
