The Metro Historical Commission is planning some thing special.
This December marks the 160th anniversary of the Battle of Nashville, which was a turning point in the Civil War and now, the Historical Commission wants to honor the Black soldiers who helped the Union win. A marker highlighting the Battle at Peach Orchard Hill is in the works to go up on Harding Pike. This week, the marker committee approved the text for the marker and on Monday, the historical commission will vote on it.
If approved, it’ll be ordered and hopefully arrive in time for the anniversary in December. Read more HERE
