Hate to see anything local on this list.. but one of America’s Most Endangered Rivers of 2024 is right here in Middle Tennessee.
Because of excessive water withdrawal, Duck River landed on the list. It’s actually the most biodiverse river in North America and the top 3 in the world. It has 22 aquatic snail species, fifty-six mussel species and just over 150 fish species, making the water cleaner than other rivers.
