A company called American Ant Supply is offering a couple bucks to Tennessee residents for carpenter ant queens. The company supplies ants to museums, universities, ant keepers and more.
Around this time of year, carpenter ants produce new queens, which then fly off, mate, shed their wings and find a new place to start a colony. You could get anywhere between $5 to $10 per queen ant you find!
