The Franklin Fire Department’s hoping to improve response times thanks to this new technology.
They installed a new alert system, the HAAS Alerting System, which warns drivers that emergency vehicles are nearby. Once the crews turn on their lights, the system sends an alert to drivers in the area who are using a navigation app like Waze and Apple Maps. Once the emergency vehicle’s stopped for 60 seconds, it send an alert to say “on the scene.”
