We’re kicking off Labor Day weekend today which means a LOT of people are traveling in and out of middle Tennessee for the weekend
– BNA is anticipating over 150 thousand travelers this weekend
– airport employees are suggesting that people get to the airport early so you have extra time to get through TSA lines and to avoid missing flights
– I’ve also seen people suggesting that you use carry-ons instead of checking a bag so you know it won’t get lost
This isn’t something you see everyday.. an East Nashville homeowner is dealing with at least 10 thousand dollars-worth of damage after a garbage truck ripped electrical equipment off the side of her house
– she only knows that’s what happened because her neighbors caught most of the incident on a doorbell camera
– luckily nobody was hurt in the incident
It’s finally happening!
– Twitter is finally testing an “edit” button
– with the new button, users will have 30 minutes after posting to edit the tweet
– however, you won’t be able to delete the original tweet forever
– so if you edit it, an icon will show up that lets readers click and see that tweet’s edit history.. so the original tweet will still be visible
– good rule of thumb with twitter- just watch what you say
The Tennessee Department of Treasury is now saying there’s over a billion dollars of Unclaimed Property in the state!
– this is like finding treasure..
– Unclaimed Property is money that’s been turned over to the state from businesses and organizations who couldn’t find who it belonged to
– to see if you have any, you can go to claim it dot treasury dot T-N dot gov and check your name
If you’re planning to leave town for the long weekend, a study is now suggesting the best time to travel
– if you plan on leaving today, they suggest driving before 1 or after 7 tonight
– if you leave tomorrow, leave before 1 or after 5
– Sunday and Monday are expected to have normal congestion
I know yesterday just kicked off September, but looking forward to October.. Freeform just released their 31 Nights of Halloween schedule
– it all kicks off October 1st with classics Edward Scissorhands, Nightmare Before Christmas, Hocus Pocus and Beetlejuice
– you can see the full schedule on our Mix 92.9 Official Instagram stories
– nothing gives me all the warm and fuzzy feelings like 31 nights of spooky movies
Tennessee Volunteers season opener was last night and it wasn’t much of a game
– they beat the Ball State Cardinals 59 to 10
– College football is back in full swing with Vanderbilt playing tomorrow at 6 and Alabama tomorrow at 6:30
We’re kicking off Labor Day weekend today, which means a lot of businesses are closed on Monday.. here’s a little cheat sheet so you’re not making a trip for nothing
– government offices like courts, the post office, public school offices, the public library and trash are all closed for Monday
– Most banks will also be closed, however ATMs will still be available to use
– Not many stores will be closed.. as of now, only Costco has decided to close Monday
– most are actually running big Labor Day sales so it is a good day to go shopping and get a jump start on your holidays gifts
