This is a HIT in my family!
It’s perfect for when you want to prep breakfasts for the week that everybody in the family will love. The kids in my family call this “special eggies,” but it’s a simple breakfast casserole that will make mornings easy!
What You Need:
- 1lb ground sausage
- 9 eggs
- pint heavy cream
- shredded cheese
- about 4 slices of bread, cubed
- any additional toppings (we sometimes use peppers and onions)
Pre-heat your oven to 350 degrees
While browning sausage on medium heat, put the cubed bread in 9x13in dish
- when sausage is browned, put it on top of the bread
- if using sautéed onions and peppers or other toppings, add them into the dish now
- in a medium sized bowl, mix eggs and about 1-1 1/2 cups heavy cream
- add about a cup of shredded cheese to the egg mixture and whisk
- dump the egg mixture on top of the bread, sausage and toppings
Pop it in the oven for 35-40 minutes until firm
