A new marker is telling history here in Middle TN.
Out in Columbia, a new marker honors the site of James K Polk’s longtime home. He served as the 9th governor for Tennessee and the 11th President of the US. The house and now museum that is more well-known belonged to his parents and he lived there for a while before marrying and moving up the street, where the historical marker now stands.
Wnfortunately the home saw some bad times and ended up being demolished back in 19-61, but the steps remain with the marker.
