Walter
Charles (Charlie) Benthall
died
Saturday, August 22nd, 2020, after a long illness.
Charlie
was born October 26, 1969 in Tyler, Texas. He always considered Tyler his home
and wanted to go back one day.
Charlie
was a true Texan: proud of his state, his teams, and fiercely devoted and loyal
to his family.
Since
Charlie had Cerebral Palsy and other physical challenges, he wasn’t able to get
out a lot, so TV and music were his constant companions. He loved his soap
operas and could tell you every plot for the past 30 years or more. Charlie
loved the actor Larry Hagman and the TV show Dallas. Charlie also loved actress
Amanda Donohoe, and actor-singer John Schneider, who took time to send Charlie
a birthday video last year. Charlie loved it.
He
and daddy would listen to Conway Twitty’s “That’s My Job” every
Father’s Day. That was their thing. Now
Charlie and daddy are together again.
Charlie’s
loved-ones:
Charlie
was preceded in death by his devoted mama, Carol M. (Jefferis) Benthall; his
beloved Bubba, Otis Jordan Benthall, III; and his dear Daddy, Otis Jordan
Benthall, Jr.
He is
survived by his sister Anna Marie Ritter of Nashville, TN; and his sister Terri
Fellwock and her husband Marc Fellwock of Spring, TX. Terri was Charlie’s
caregiver the last three years of his life, and gave him a wonderful, happy
life, full of love and laughter. Charlie’s also survived by his
sister-in-law Charlotte Benthall of
Humble, TX; 4 nieces and nephews, Jennifer Brooks of Spring, TX, Jonathan
Fellwock and his wife Lisa of Spring, TX, Timothy Fellwock and his wife Alyson
of Spring, TX, and Otis Jordan Benthall, IV and his wife Kayla of Humble, TX;
as well as great-nieces and nephews, Nayshen, Nehemiah, Jaydan, Hollyn, Lotus
and Kingsley.
Sweet Charlie, we will never forget you. Fly high and run fast without pain or limitations. Hug mama, daddy, and your buddy Bubba again for us.
