Keep an eye out for this the next time you’re driving through Hermitage.
In an effort to beautify the community, artwork is popping up in unique places. A utility box near Dodson Chapel Road is now outfitted in wildflower art which was created by local artist and former Metro Council member Phil Ponder.
Phil passed away yesterday after a health battle so this is a way to honor him and all he’s done to shape the community in Hermitage. This is the first of many pop-up tributes to Phil that are being planned! Another utility box with his artwork is being planned for the corner of Old Hickory Boulevard and Central Pike.
Phil was 93 years old and known as the unofficial mayor of Hermitage. He will be greatly missed.
