Extreme Heat Causes Cleats To Melt On Nissan Stadium Turf

It was another hot one out there yesterday as the Titans took on the Eagles.

You may have noticed some players dumping water on their cleats during the game, and this is why. The extreme heat has been so bad on the field, the soles of some players’ cleats have been melting! Last week in their game against the Jets, Amani Hooker had to change cleats at halftime because the midsoles completely melted off of his cleats.

Apparently, the surface temperature of the turf at Nissan Stadium reached up to 155.7 degrees in the 98 degree air temp!
