The new “Drone as First Responder” program launches today with the Metro Nashville Police Department.
3 drones will be located on the roof of the Madison Precinct and will start responding to emergency calls within a 2-mile radius. These can be beneficial for many reasons, like being able to be first on scene within minutes and also navigating areas that officers would have a difficult time getting to. They also increase officer awareness so they know exactly what they’re rolling into.
