Yesterday was Earth Day and Nashville launched a new program to celebrate.
A new foam recycling program was officially opened, which will allow Davidson County residents to recycle Styrofoam and foam packaging for free. Egg cartons, take out containers, foam coolers, and large, molded foam pieces can all be dropped off to be recycled.
Everything brought in will be melted down and then transferred to a packaging plant in La Vergne, which will use it to make new products like furniture, carpet, roof tiles, insulations and more.
