We’ve all heard the saying “whoever smelt it, dealt it,” but if you’re down in Murfreesboro, leave your friend alone.. they didn’t let one rip!
The police department received some emergency calls from residents who were concerned about a rotten egg smell permeating through the city, but don’t be alarmed. Yesterday, a gas company was doing a planned, controlled release of a chemical called “mercaptan,” and thanks to the wind direction, that’s what you were smelling.
The smell from the gas isn’t harmful to residents, just gross and it should be done now so at least you’re in the clear today.. breathing actual fresh air.
