This new bill would crack-down even harder on hands-free driving.
Under the current law, the first time you’re caught holding your phone, it’s a $50 fine and a $10 court fee, however this new bill could raise that court cost to 50% of the total fine. They’re hoping this makes drivers think twice about holding their phones while driving.
If it passes, it’ll go into effect on July 1st.
