Members of the Antioch High School staff were honored last night for their quick thinking and heroism.
Back in January, the staff made potentially life-saving decisions when they promptly closed cafeteria gates, helped shelter students from danger and helped others evacuate the building. Last night, the Metro Nashville Public Schools Board of Education thanked them for actions.
Since the shooting, the board has approved a weapon detection system for all Metro High Schools. That should be installed at every school by the end of this school year.
