On Dec. 15, Ariana Grande‘s record label denied online rumors that the Wicked star was planning a tour for 2025. Now Ariana is explaining how she feels about the prospect of hitting the road right now.
Speaking to Variety, Ariana said, “I think my fans know that music and being on stage will always be a part of my life, but I don’t see it coming anytime soon. I think the next few years, hopefully we’ll be exploring different forms of art, and I think acting is feeling like home right now.”
She added, “I am appreciative for [my fans’] understanding. I’m so grateful for the ways in which we’ve grown together over this whole journey with Wicked. But music will always be a part of my life.”
Ariana spoke to Variety at the Golden Globes First-Time Nominee Luncheon on Dec. 17 in LA. She’s nominated for Best Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture for Wicked. It was recently revealed that the second half of the two-part movie musical will be called Wicked: For Good, and Ariana says the cast and crew have always known that was the title.
“We had it printed on our original scripts, the hard copies that we were originally given,” she said. “We were floating around different ideas but the scripts were printed with it since day one. I’m glad it’s official now because we grew rather attached to it.”
She added, “It’s just the perfect title because this project really has changed us for good.” The movie arrives in theaters Nov. 21, 2025.
