More about the crawl from Rashed Fakhruddin: “Through this month long crawl of over 50 fitness events, we help raise awareness and funds in the fight against breast cancer through the American Cancer Society via their intensive cancer research, patient support as well as education and awareness (over a quarter million women are diagnosed with breast cancer and over 40 thousand die from it in the U.S., while 1 in 8 women are expected to develop breast cancer in their lifetime!).
Our intent is to build a community around survivors’ support through the fitness studios, as well as to provide opportunities for Nashvillians to try to stay healthy (both physically & emotionally) via exercise, as higher levels of physical activity are linked to lower risk of cancer and other diseases, while also being linked to healing.
Men Wear Pink is an initiative of the American Cancer Society which engages leaders in the community throughout the US to raise awareness and money to save more lives than ever from breast cancer.”
