Exciting news for Hunger Games fans.. a new novel and movie is coming!
Yesterday, Scholastic announced that “Sunrise on the Reaping” will be published on March 18th, 2025 and will be written by the series’ original author, Suzanne Collins. It’s a prequel to the Hunger Games that we know and love with Katniss and Peeta.. set 24 years before that and 40 years after “The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes.”
The new book will feature the 2nd Quarter Quell.. which, if my math is correct.. means we’ll get a young Haymitch in this book, who was Katniss and Peeta’s advisor. A film will follow the books’ release and come to theaters November 20th, 2026.
