Fan and Air Conditioner Program
It’s been hotter than ever lately, and some people are REALLY suffering. So a reminder that Metro Action Commission here in Davidson county offers cooling help, like help with paying utility bills and/or free cooling options.
The Elderly, families with children under six years old and disabled residents with medical conditions that are affected by extreme heat conditions are eligible to receive a free fan and/or air conditioning unit during the summer months from May until August. Additional information is required for this program for medical eligibility. This program begins May 1 and ends August 31. For more information contact marvin.cox@nashville.gov.
The Summer Cooling program is supported largely by contributions of financial donations and new air conditioning units from the public. To make a financial contribution please make checks payable to the Metropolitan Action Commission with a notation that your donation is for the Summer Cooling program. Donations of NEW (still in the manufacturer’s packaging) air conditioner or fan to the agency are accepted at our main office. For more information contact metro.action@nashville.gov
