Show Host

Tala Shatara
Tala Shatara is a Nashville-based journalist, radio personality, editor, and storyteller with a heart for people and the communities that shape Middle Tennessee. As the host of this public affairs program on Mix 92.9, Tala brings meaningful conversations to the airwaves each week, spotlighting the people, nonprofits, leaders, and organizations making a difference across the region. With a background in television news, lifestyle media, radio, and community storytelling, she has built her career around one mission: helping people feel informed, seen, and connected.
A former TV journalist and current Editor-in-Chief of Nashville Fit Magazine, Tala has spent years sharing stories that go beyond headlines. Her work often focuses on health, wellness, family, faith, local impact, and the everyday people doing extraordinary things in their own neighborhoods. Through thoughtful interviews and honest conversations, Tala hopes to create a space where listeners can learn something new, feel encouraged, and walk away with a deeper connection to the community around them. Whether she is talking with local leaders, advocates, nonprofit founders, health experts, educators, or neighbors with powerful stories to tell, Tala leads with curiosity, compassion, and heart. For Tala, public affairs is more than a program requirement — it is an opportunity to use radio for good. It is a chance to bring important issues to light, celebrate the people serving Middle Tennessee, and remind listeners that community starts with conversation.
