Things may soon look different for students in Williamson County.
Earlier this week, the Williamson County School Board voted in favor of amending their cellphone policy. The amendment is called “Away for the Day” and it would keep phones away from student access throughout the entire school day in lockers, backpacks, or a teacher-designed area.
Right now in the district, high school students can use their phones during breaks and lunchtime. The board will meet again in early November.
