- Jelly Roll has a collaboration on Lil’ Wayne’s new album, The Carter VI, called “Sharks,” and he used a ghostwriter. Wifey Bunnie Xo shared that Jelly’s 8-year-old son Noah had a part in writing the lyrics. She shared a TikTok video that shows her and Noah listening to the song in the kitchen, and on top of the clip, she writes: “When Noah was his daddy’s ghostwriter for this hook on The Carter 6.” The “Sharks” hook Noah had a hand in goes: “Snakes ain’t always in the grass / Sharks ain’t always in the water / Thieves ain’t always in the night / God ain’t always at the altar.” “Sharks” also features Big Sean on the track.
- Jerry Seinfeld has people buzzin’ with this idea! The comedic genius posted about the possibility of a “live-action sequel” to his 2007 animated hit Bee Movie. “Bee Movie, which came out nearly 20 years ago, is #4 on Netflix,” he wrote on Instagram showing a hand holding a tennis ball with a honey bee on it. The next slide was the movie’s poster, an image of Seinfeld’s character Barry B. Benson similarly straddling a tennis ball. “Today, my friend Spike Feresten, one of the writers on the film, was playing tennis and this happened.” He continued, “Clearly a sign. Time for a live-action sequel..?” DreamWorks’ Bee Movie, which Seinfeld produced, co-wrote, and starred in along with Renée Zellweger, has become a cult favorite since its release. Bee Movie also featured the voices of Matthew Broderick, John Goodman, Chris Rock, Kathy Bates, Megan Mullally, Oprah Winfrey, and several celebrities appearing as animated versions of themselves, including Larry King, Ray Liotta, and Sting.
- Live Nation has plans to open 18 new entertainment venues in the next 18 months. The company announced in a press release, “Live Nation’s commitment to expanding into smaller, underserved music markets means fans in vibrant places like Birmingham, AL, Virginia Beach, VA, or Allentown, PA can now experience world-class events closer to home.” The locations include those mentioned previously as well as cities like Atlanta, Denver, Indianapolis, Memphis, Milwaukee, Nashville, Orlando, Portland, Maine, Portland, Oregon, Pittsburgh, Raleigh, Richmond, Riverside, Missouri, Seattle, and Shakopee, Minnesota. The venues will be clubs, amphitheaters, and other live entertainment spaces.
