Next school year’s gonna look a little different for kids in the classroom.
Governor Lee just signed that law limiting phone use in classrooms which will begin next school year, but students at KIPP Academy Nashville are getting a jump-start on it. At the beginning of the school day, they use the Yondr pouches to lock their phones away for the day.
Students said that at first, they didn’t like the idea, but now that they’re used to it, they were able to see the positives of putting their phone away, like improving their social life and skills. School officials also noticed that since adopting the policy, chronic absences have dropped by 26% and the drama amongst students in the hall has dropped, as well.
