Honeybees have faced a staggering population decline in the US, with colony losses at 62% over the winter. Entomologists at Washington State University forecast that total honeybee losses this year could reach up to 70%. Usually beekeepers would only lose 10 to 20% of their colonies over the winter. Climate change, weed killing and urban sprawl are factors killing the bees, which are crucial to our food production.
Frito-Lay has dropped a new Ruffles flavor: Greek-Style Ranch. They have the tzatziki yogurt sauce flavor of lemon, garlic and herbs plus a hit of parmesan. You’ll have to find a Costco near you to try them; they’re available only at the warehouse chain at the moment.
Shopping on social media has caught up to QVC and HSN. The parent company of both home shopping networks announced the layoffs of 900 workers last week. The firings were roughly five percent of QVC and HSN’s total workforce. The networks will start to focus more on social media and streaming platforms to sell items.
