I’m sure you’ve seen the news by now that there’s been a confirmed case of the measles in Middle Tennessee.
That person is at home recovering, but maybe you’re wondering now what plans schools have in place in case somebody at your child’s school has the measles, as well. Here’s what to look for: a high fever, cough, runny nose, red or watery eyes, also a rash.
According to experts, you can be contagious for a week or so, but the good news is that over 90% of kindergarteners are vaccinated against the disease. Students who have the measles will be asked to stay home for 4 days after their rash appeared.
