Something new was discovered on a historic property here in Middle Tennessee.
Over at Andrew Jackson’s property, The Hermitage, exerts believe they found 28 graves belonging to slaves who worked as field hands. According to the Chief of Preservation and Site Operations, many enslaved people lived on the property until the end of the Civil War.
It’s taken decades for the graves to be found, but it was 2 pieces of limestone that led archeologists to the site. Beginning on Monday, a tour will now include a stop at the cemetery. Details HERE
