As a newbie in Nashville, I have quite a lot of alone time on my hands. I feel like the best way to explore a new city is through the food and drinks. So I asked for the best local watering holes according to Nashville locals, and boy did you guys deliver!
I’m a big fan of laid back joints where the food is good, the drinks are cold, and the bartenders are super friendly. As always, I’d prefer that they have live music I can enjoy while I’m there checking out the scene.
If you’re a newbie in Nash or you’re just looking for your next new spot to try, take a look at this list below provided by Nashville locals! I even included some of the comments that were made about certain recommendations.
- Brewhouse West– Charlotte Pike
- Common John’s– Manchester (on weekends)
- Alley Pub– Bellevue
- Otto’s on the west side– Charlotte- ( this one got several votes) “super chill bar, AMAZING staff (especially Travis ) great nachos!”
- Rosie’s Twin Kegs
- Jack Brown’s – Germantown
- Brewhouse– Franklin
- Dalt’s on White Bridge– “especially if Marja is bartending. Drinks are good. Food is good. Price is just right!”
- Sweet Water
- The Nashville Palace in Music Valley- on fridays- “Lots of locals, some tourists, but always chill. Come as you are.”
- Portland Pizza and Pub
- Phat Bites Deli and Bar (I actually chose to go here on my first Friday in Nashville and I heard great music, had a couple cold ones, and was well taken care of by the bartenders. I heard they have GREAT food. I didn’t eat but I plan to go back!
- Pig n Pub at The Bluff– White Bluff
- The Local (this one got several votes)
- The Rudder at Anchor High Marina
I fully plan to visit each and every one of these places, it just might take me a while. What’s your favorite local joint in or around Nashville?
