If you’re like most folks, you have a catch-all drawer. These are generally located in the kitchen and have everything from a half-chewed pack of gun to that Phillips head screwdriver you can never find when you need it most. But if you’re like me, you also have a catch-all or simply a junk room. It’s my spare bedroom and houses extra items I don’t use every day that I’m not ready to part with and boxes. Tons of boxes – mainly from Amazon that are waiting to be broken down and hauled off to recycling – a date still yet to be determined. Yep, if there’s clutter in any room of the house, it’s my spare bedroom. Speaking of clutter, I found a new survey on the subject – would you believe 40% of homeowners surveyed say they fear facing the clutter at their home? I feel their pain. The rest of the survey – courtesy of The Container Store shakes out like this:
– 50% of people say home organization impacts their mental health
– 25% of items are currently out of place in American homes
– 46% of homeowners would feel embarrassed if guests saw the state of their “junk” storage areas
– 37% of people say their garage looks like a nightmare
-33% of people struggle to stay organized.
I’ll be honest, anyone who’s gotten the ‘nickel’ tour of my house, also gets to see my “junk” room – if only for a second. Got a room full of clutter you’ve been putting off organizing?! Love hearing from you, so be sure to hit the comments below! And thanks for stopping by my lil slice of the web! – Butter
