Two students in Brentwood have bragging rights for at least the next decade!
They have their artwork showcased in the Smithsonian American Art Museum in Washington, DC. The Crockett Elementary School students won the opportunity thanks to the help of their gifted class teacher, Ms. Stephanie Higgs after the Smithsonian offered a visual art contest for students nationwide that centered around the theme: “Fighters for Freedom: Picturing Justice.”
5th grader Ishana Patel and 3rd grader Griffin Davis both won the contest and their work is actually printed in a book now available for visitors to view in the galleries.. Griffin’s painting is the cover and Ishana’s poem closes the book out! More details HERE
