Book’em’s mission is to create a more literate Nashville and ignite children’s passion for reading through book ownership and enthusiastic volunteers. The non-profit organization hosts a variety of programs to get books into the hands of children and get them excited about reading!
Throughout the year, Book’em collects new and gently-used book donations for ages 0-18. If you’re interested in donating, you can schedule an appointment to donate, mail books, or even shop from Book’em’s Amazon Wish List! Learn how you can start your own book drive to benefit Book’em here!
Book’em also collects monetary donations, and every $2.50 collected provides one book to a child in need. Donate here to Book’em!
Volunteers are needed, and Book’em is currently recruiting! Volunteers can help with everything from book processing, delivery, book drives and more. Plus, Book’em’s reading role model program offers the opportunity to visit elementary and preschool classrooms in the area to pass out books and engage with students on the importance (and fun!) of reading!
