FOOD SAFETY FOR HOLIDAY
Health officials are reminding you to keep food safety in mind if you're planning a big meal this weekend. Remember the rules: keep hot foods hot and cold foods cold. And you can't leave them out longer than two hours, or you're risking food poisoning. ARIZONA FIRE PROGRESS BEING MADE
Firefighters in Arizona are making progress on that deadly Yarnell fire. It's about 8% contained, which means they expect to get it under control in about a week.

METRO COUNCIL SUPPORTING IMMIGRATION REFORM
Metro Council Members have voted in support of immigration reform, approving a resolution that urges Congress to move forward with giving eleven-million people living illegally in the United States a path to citizenship. 

ZIMMERMAN TRIAL
The prosecution in the George Zimmerman murder trial wants to prove George Zimmerman lied when he said in an interview that he didn't know about Florida's "Stand Your Ground" law... which might let him kill someone in self defense. Prosecution says Zimmerman was taking classes in criminal justice in the months before he shot and killed Trayvon Martin. 

ADVOCACY GROUP CALLS LONG JOHN SILVER MEAL WORST IN AMERICA
Long John Silver's Big Catch has been declared the "Worst Restaurant Meal in America" by the Center for Science in the Public Interest (CSPI). The non-profit organization works for nutrition and health, and says it'll sue if Long John Silver doesn't correct the nutrition information about the meal online. It lists the Big Catch as having much less trans fat, and more fish than it actually does. 

IT'S OKAY TO DO YOGA IN SCHOOL
A California judge has ruled that yoga (especially as it's taught now) is not a religious indoctrination and can be taught in schools as a form of exercise. The judge ruled yoga does not violate any constitutional laws about religion in schools. Yoga can improve balance, flexibility, range of motion and strength, reduce risk factors for chronic diseases and is reported to help depression, pain and insomnia. Kids who do yoga tend to eat better, do better in school and are less aggressive. 

NASHVILLE MOTORCYCLE RIDER CRASHES, LOSES PASSENGER AND KEEPS RIDING
Ahhh, this is classy! A guy riding a motorcycle in Nashville around 12:30 this morning clipped a jeep, and his female passenger fell off his bike. He kept on going. Crashed the bike then ran away, leaving the woman bleeding on the ground. She's at Vanderbilt.

WHITE HOUSE DELAYS PART OF AFFORDABLE CARE ACT 
White House officials say they're putting off till 2015 part of the Affordable Care Act that requires businesses with over 50 employees to provide health insurance to their workers.

AUTO SALES UP
It looks like a good sign the economy is on the rise for all of us: the auto industry says sales are up, in some cases to their highest levels in five years.

TECHNOLOGY
What's new in the world of technology? Volkswagen is showing off a sporty-looking 2-seater called the XL1 that gets 261 miles per gallon.
And Microsoft is said to be working on Smartphones that will detect your mood. Not sure what they'll DO about it, but that's still in the works.

NEUROSURGEON SAYS HUMAN HEAD TRANSPLANT POSSIBLE 
Okay, what do you think? Is this an amazing miracle of medicine, or is it creepy, frankenstein like stuff? An Italian surgeon believes modern medicine has advanced to the point where it's possible to perform head transplants. That's taking someone's head off in a surgery and reconnecting it to a healthy, headless, body.

Not every relationship turns out as well as the couple in the "Pina Colada" song, where they find the 'stranger' they're corresponding with is their own spouse, and get closer.
Adrian and Seana were unhappy with their marriage, and turned to the internet. They each found someone online, started chatting about their horrible spouses, and decided to hook up. Turns out they'd been talking to each other. But, INSTEAD of thinking, "Awww, even online, we were drawn to each other.... " Adrian and Seana are filing for divorce, each accusing the other of being unfaithful.

HANDICAPPED DUCK GETS PROSTHETIC FOOT FROM NASHVILLE COMPANY
Have you seen that little duck, Buttercup that has a new prosthetic foot that was made in a 3D printer? Well that technology comes from a Nashville company, Nova Copy. They're the ones who used their 3D printer to print the prototype duck foot, that was then made out of urethane, and has lil Buttercup happily waddling around. Opens up a world of possibilities for all sorts of applications.

SEARS CLOSING AT COOL SPRINGS GALLERIA
The Sears at Cool Springs Galleria is closing. No word yet on when. That means 'sales,' in the meantime. CBL will redevelop both floors of the Sears store, and make it a continuous part of the mall, adding 116-thousand square feet of additional retail space.

BIRTHDAYS TODAY (WED)
If you're celebrating a birthday today you share it with Tom Cruise. He's 51 today, and just got the best-ever early birthday present: Cher, telling the world in a recent interview that Tom was one of her greatest lovers, ever. Top 5.
And it's also happy birthday day for Yeardley Smith, voice of Lisa Simpson. She's 49 today.
Actor Thomas Gibson is 51.  (Born 1962)  His credits include the TV series "Dharma and Greg,"  "Criminal Minds."

TRACY MORGAN'S FAMILY GROWS
Former 30-Rock and Saturday Night Live actor Tracy Morgan and his wife have a new baby. Named her Maven. She and mommy are doing fine. Tracy has three grown sons from a previous marriage.

SAFETY INVESTIGATORS STAND BY CAUSE OF TWA 800 CRASH 
Federal safety investigators are standing by their report on what caused a jetliner to explode off Long Island in 1996, killing all 230 people on board. THE NTSB says it was an explosion in a fuel tank, probably caused by a spark from faulty wiring. A documentary airing later this month will argue that the report was part of a coverup. Some witnesses say they saw a streak of light heading toward the plane before the explosion.  (That documentary airs July 18th)

STATE DEPARTMENT BUREAU SPENDS $630,000 ON FACEBOOK LIKES
State Department officials spent $630,000 to get more Facebook "likes," prompting employees to complain to a government watchdog that the bureau was "buying fans" in social media, the agency's inspector general says.
The department's Bureau of International Information Programs spent the money to increase its "likes" count between 2011 and March 2013.
"Many in the bureau criticize the advertising campaigns as 'buying fans' who may have once clicked on an ad or 'liked' a photo but have no real interest in the topic and have never engaged further," the inspector general reported.
