ENROLLMENT THIS WEEK AT METRO SCHOOLS
Metro Schools start next THURSDAY so all this week: enrollment. Last year many kids showed up for school and hadn't enrolled, so they had no idea where they were supposed to be.  Many teachers are already in their classrooms and others are stocking up on free school supplies from the LP Pencilbox. It's a non-profit that helps teachers who sometimes end up paying for supplies for needy students out of their own pockets. Enrollment is 9 to 7 through Friday, at all the Metro high schools. Then the first day of Metro schools is NEXT THURSDAY... Aug. 1st. www.mnps.org

THIS JULY WEATHER A LOT DIFFERENT THAN 2012
As you look at your veggies in your garden getting moldy from all the recent rain, at least we HAVE veggies this year. Last year about this time, if you'll remember, we were under the widest drought the country had experienced since the 1950s. Some of us were prohibited from watering yards, car washes closed, crops were failing. This year, Nashville has already had more than six inches of rainfall this month, and more than four inches in June, so we're heading into August in pretty good shape. )
