MIDDLE TENNESSEE BOY LETS ANOTHER WITH CP WIN WRESTLING MATCH, VIDEO GOES GOES VIRAL
A video that exhibits the "true sportsmanship" of a 12-year-old boy and his plucky wrestling opponent has gone viral on Facebook.
The clip, which features seventh grade wrestlers Justin Kievit and Jared Stevens, has racked up more than 87,000 shares since Justin's dad posted it on Facebook less than a week ago.
Jared, a 13 year-old boy with cerebral palsy, told his father that he wanted to get on the mat. He'd watched and cheered on his teammates for years, and he wanted to see what it felt like. Jared's coach called a coaching friend at another school, and asked him to, "point me toward the kid who has the kindest heart.”
And that's how 12 year-old Justin Kievit got involved.
In the clip, you can see Justin shake hands with Jared, then actually help Jared get his arm around him and pin him, helping Jared win the match. Jared got to see what it felt like to win one!  Many people who have watched the video said that they were deeply touched by both the sportsmanship and bravery shown by the two young boys. YAY, Justin and Jared, for reminding us about what true Holiday Spirit is about: giving and helping each other out!

I don't know about you, but this is one of MY top news stories! Johnny Depp has just bought a house in the Nashville area. It's a $17.5 million dollar, 19 thousand square foot home. It's so magnificent, I can't describe it, so here's the link to take an online tour.  (It's the second mansion he's bought in the past three months... the other in Los Angeles.)

VETERINARIANS SEE MORE PETS THIS TIME OF YEAR
Veterinarians often see an increase in visits during the holiday season because as we eat holiday foods, we feel guilty and feed them to our pets as well. Feeding your dog or cat rich people-food could make pets sick, or even be deadly. Vets also say you sould keep an eye on your leftovers because your pets are more likely to sneak a bite when you're not looking or get into an overflowing trashcan.

THREE SCHOOL SYSTEMS CLOSED AS FLU SPREADS
The flu is still spreading, and there are three school systems already closed because of it. None of them are adjacent to us, yet, but officials say as early as this flu season is starting, this could be the worst in ten years.

ADOPTED CHILD ORDERED RETURNED TO BIOLOGICAL FATHER
A judge has ordered a Utah couple to return the baby they adopted and raised for two years to her biological father, after it came to light that he didn't know about the baby, and didn't give his permission to let her be adopted. The 31 year old man was in the military, and estranged from his wife, when she had the baby, didn't even tell him she was pregnant, just turned over the child for adoption.  The adoptive parents now say they'll appeal.

Principals and community leaders met this week to hear recommendations from a consultant .... who was hired to help improve Metro's low-performing schools. The ideas included including goal-setting for students, and notebooks for the kids with individual learning plans.

MALCOLM IN THE MIDDLE STAR HAS STROKE
You don’t hear often about a twenty-something year old having a stroke, but that’s what "Malcolm in the Middle" star Frankie Muniz says happened to him on Friday. A mini-stroke, called a TIA, is a TEMPORARY blockage of blood flow to part of the brain, and it does not destroy brain cells or cause permanent disability like a regular stroke. Every mini stroke, however, increases the chances of another one. Today's Muniz's 27th birthday.

LOVE OF MONEY, OR LOVE OF SPOUSE. CAN'T HAVE BOTH
Couples who are focused on money and materialism could be dooming their marriage. Even if both mates share that high priority for money or buying things. Researchers from Brigham Young University found people who find the cash and things less important are far more likely, statistically, to have a satisfying and stable marriage.

WORLD'S OLDEST LIVING PERSON DIES AT 116
Besse Cooper, listed in Guiness World Records as the oldest living person on the planet, has died. She was 116 years old. Her son, 77-year old Sidney Cooper, says his mother died peacefully at the Park Place nursing home in Monroe, Georgia. He says "she looked real good when she passed away" telling reporters she got up Tuesday morning "had a big old breakfast and got her hair fixed." He points out Besse Cooper was alive in three centuries, something not many people get to do. She was certified as the world's oldest person by Guiness in January of last year.

THE NOSE KNOWS WHEN YOU LIE
And we may have to change an old saying to keep up with science! Researchers have found that when you lie, your nose gets hotter. Your fib causes activity in the part of the brain that contols body temperature and makes your nose hot. So, the new saying would be, "Liar, liar NOSE on fire."

TOILET PAPER REGRET
Do you have something you wish you hadn't done? One thing you'd make good if you could? School officials at a New Mexico university recently got a package, and an apology note. Someone wrote that he'd recently come to Jesus, and he was returning 80 rolls of toilet paper he'd stolen years ago. School officials say 'all is forgiven.'
