MIX DAY AT THE SALVATION ARMY RED KETTLES
Today is Mix Day with the Mayor and the Nashville Firefighters at the Salvation Army's Red Kettles in downtown Nashville. Mix will be blasting the Christmas music, and ringing the bells to help the Salvation Army raise money for their programs that include shelters for women and children, GED classes, emergency help in disasters, and of course, the Angel Trees at Christmas. We'll be at FOURTH AND CHURCH, from about 11 to 1. Drive by and bring cash, we'll come to your car window and get it. Fourth and Church

WOMEN LOOK OLDEST AT 3:30 PM WEDNESDAYS
No matter what you do, DON'T look in the mirror at 3:30 this afternoon! A survey finds women look their oldest on Wednesdays at 3:30. It has to do with how tired you're getting, how your week's going and the fact that some of us start skipping the finer details of our hair and makeup routines by this time of the week. The survey says most of us feel, and look, better by Thursday morning, once we get over humpday.

NASHVILLE CHURCH'S LAST MINUTE TOY STORE IS TODAY
People have been lined up since Monday to get into the Last Minute Toy Store in west Nashville which opens today. The Last minute toy store gives low-income families in Davidson county who missed the deadlines for other programs like the Salvation Army's angel trees, a chance to go in and get Christmas gifts for their kids. Last night, church members and volunteers brought hot chocolate and snacks out, and sang Christmas carols for people waiting. The store's doors opened this morning and shopping starts at one today. MEGA MILLIONS WINNERS
Somebody's going to have a Merry Christmas! There were two winning tickets sold in the Mega Millions lottery last night. One in California, the other in Georgia. They'll split the jackpot, which got up to 636-million dollars before the winning numbers were drawn.

CANADIAN MAN WINS LOTTERY, GIVES IT TO CHARITY
And after all the dreams about what we'd do if we won the lottery, this guy puts them all to shame. In Canada, Tom Crist won $40-million dollars in the lottery there, and says he's going to give it all to charity in memory of his wife. They’d been married 33 years when he lost her to cancer, so Crist says he’ll give the money to the Canadian Cancer society and others, in her honor.

SENATE EXPECTED TO APPROVE BUDGET
The Senate is expected to approve the bipartisan budget deal today, sending it to President Obama for his signature.  The House approved the two-year spending plan last week.  Yesterday, the budget cleared a key procedural hurdle in the Senate on a vote of 67-33.  

MNPS INVESTIGATING DISTURBING INSTAGRAM ACCOUNTS
There's apparently some online bullying going around at Metro Schools and officials are trying to get it stopped. School officials say someone is posting through anonymous Instagram accounts, photos of female students, and encouraging others to make comments about their appearance. School leaders are asking parents to monitor their teenagers' social media activity and notify the school if your child has been targeted, or stop your teenager if he or she is one of the tormenters.

NASHVILLE ADDING ANOTHER NON-STOP TO LAGUARDIA
Good news for locals who'd like to see New York City: Nashville International Airport is adding more non-stop flights to LaGuardia Airport: three daily Southwest flights starting May 11th. American Airlines and Delta already have non-stop flights there from Nashville. 

MANY PEOPLE HEADED TO DOCTORS' OFFICES THIS TIME OF YEAR.,
If you don't need to go to the doctor right now, you may want to hold off. Doctors' offices, eye clinics, dental practices and pharmacies say this is their busiest time of year. Not only because there are a lot of sick people, but also because there are a lot of people who've finally met their insurance deductible, and are trying to get in before they have to start paying for everything January 1st. If you want to get in without so much wait time, schedule your next doctor visit in January, when things slow down.

BEYONCE TOPS BILLBOARD WITH SURPRISE ALBUM
That surprise album Beyonce just put out has already shot to number one on the Billboard chart. It's the highest sales week of Beyonce's solo career, and this milestone makes her the first woman to reach the top with all five of her first albums.

BOSTON MARATHON VICTIM ENGAGED TO NURSE HE MET WHILE HOSPITALIZED
A man who was injured in the bombing at the Boston Marathon earlier this year is now engaged to a nurse he met while he was in the hospital. James Costello says in the weeks after he was burned, he asked himself why it happened. Now, that he's engaged to his former nurse, Krista, Costello says, " I now realized why I was involved in the tragedy. It was to meet my best friend, and the love of my life."

FORMER VANDY PLAYER TO KEEP ANKLE BRACELET
A former Vanderbilt football player accused of rape will have to keep wearing his ankle GPS monitor while he's waiting for trial. Cory Batey is one of four former players charged with sexually assaulting an unconscious female student in a dorm room in June. The 19-year-old was in court yesterday to ask to have it removed.

CELLPHONE CRASHING AT THE AIRPORT 
You ever see someone talking on a cellphone in a public area, and you are able to hear every word of their personal conversations?
Well have you seen that video that's going viral right now? It's called "Cell phone crashing."
This guy slips up on people talking on the cellphone, and with his cellphone in hand, he starts answering everything they say, but acting like he's alking to someone on his phone. It's just some silliness you may want to check out later when you get a minute.

SNOW IN EGYPT FIRST TIME IN A CENTURY, BRINGS VIRAL PHOTOS, VIDEO
If you haven't heard, many in the Middle East are seeing snow for the first time in their lives after blizzards moved through. That includes Saudi Arabia where a video of a local man leaping headfirst into a snow mound is going viral online.
Entitled "This is why we don't have snow in Saudi Arabia," the video shows the man with his legs flailing in the air as a friend laughs. Apparently playing in the snow is an aquired skill.

For 45 years, Carol King-Eckersley kept a promise not to look for the baby boy she had given up for adoption when she was just a teenager. But when her husband died last year she decided to track down her son. She found him... but also found that he was one of the victims of the bombing of Pan Am Flight 103 over Lockerbie, Scotland.
